Bryansk Machine-Building Plant increases fivefold its investment program in 2018

JSC Transmashholding consistently and successfully implements investment projects aimed at creation of high-tech production at its affiliates. Financing for new equipment acquisitions by JSC Bryansk Machine-Building Plant (a member of JSC Transmashholding) amounted to over 200 million rubles last year. In 2018 over one billion rubles will be provided for this aim.

Modernization of the manufacturing base carried out at Bryansk Machine-Building Plant contributes to improved service quality as well as competitiveness of products manufactured, including basic, such as maneuverable and main-line locomotives. For instance, at the end of last year a portal-type vertical processing unit RAMA with a fixed crosshead for processing trucks’ frames of all locomotives produced at the enterprise was implemented, and since January 2018 put into operation.

Four new robotic units will be implemented in bogie workshop in 2018. They will provide almost complete automation of assembling and welding processes of the trucks’ frames, thus ensuring work efficiency, stability and quality. This will therefore provide an opportunity to refuse night shift avoiding decreased productivity.

The purchase of two painting and drying chambers for diesel locomotives is also on the schedule. Commissioning of the equipment will allow to significantly increase painting quality, reduce four times drying time, decrease impact on the environment, save energy sources and, in general, improve the technological process of coloring locomotives.

The investment program stipulates purchase of equipment to carry out control over stability and quality of the products produced, control and measuring equipment for bearing housings, driving and wheel gears, as well as laser equipment for measuring frames, a bench for processing wheel-motor unit with vibrodiagnostics system simulating the operation of the wheel-motor unit under the locomotive.

In 2017, BMZ manufacturing plant purchased and put into operation three laser-cutting machines for cutting sheet metals, laser system for cutting pipes and tube steel up to 220 mm in diameter, two painting and drying chambers for painting parts and assemblies of the main diesel locomotive. A new transborder was installed to cut costs for diesel locomotive transportation in the mainline locomotive manufacture workshop.

Introduction of the modern, high capacity equipment is aimed at further development and improvement of the manufacture, ensuring products’ quality, corresponding to the most demanding international standards.
