Transmashholding and IDRO to launch a joint-venture for metro cars construction and maintenance

The document has been endorsed by the CEO Kirill Lipa and IDRO Chairman Mansour Moazami.

The agreement on joint-venture was signed further to the Declaration of Intent, agreed by the Parties in March 2017 during the visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani to Russia.

80 % of the equity of the newly set company will be owned by Transmashholding, the rest will be owned by IDRO. As agreed, the products will be designated both for the Iranian domestic market and, if economically feasible, for the metropolitans of the Middle East.

As per the experts’ estimates, the overall needs of the Iranian metropolitan in the rolling stock amount to 2,000 metro cars. Metro systems are currently being operated in five cities of the Republic, namely, Tehran, Mashhad, Tabriz, Shiraz and Isfahan. Several other Iranian cities have their metropolitan projects at a different degree of readiness.
