Transmashholding boosted sales in 2016
According to the 2016 results, Transmashholding has increased their sales proceeds by 22 per cent as compared with 2015 and up to Rub. 120 billion.
The largest increase was recorded in sales of EMUs and amounts to 49 per cent (from 174 to 259 units, including 121 units of EP2D train cars in 2016). Sales of double-deck coaches went up by 23 per cent (from 70 to 86 units), while the sales of single-deck compartment coaches and open-plan carriages grew by 317 per cent (from 35 to 146 units). TMH sold 15 per cent more metro cars (increase from 235 to 271 units). In 2016, the major part of DMUs supplies to Serbia took place (52 cars as compared with 4 cars last year).
Positive dynamics have been observed in the business with freight diesel locomotives – 48 per cent surplus (202 sections of 2TE25KM locomotives in 2016 году vs. 136 sections in 2015). In total, sales of main-line diesel and electric locomotives have increased by 6 per cent (from 267 to 283 locomotive sections).
During 2016, various prototypes of innovative railway vehicles were introduced: new-generation metro train ‘Moskva’ (Moscow), freight main line diesel locomotive TEM28, new version of NPM2M industrial electric locomotive as well as trolley-electric locomotive with batteries for metro system maintenance; refurbishment of metro cars for Budapest started. In the past year, new EP2D and EP3D DC and AC EMUs were developed.
